The University of Yucatan, Mexico, is organizing the First Multidisciplinary Congress of South Eastern Mexico in Merida, to be held March 8-10, 2000. The Congress, commemorating the First Feminist Congress of Mexico, held in 1916, is initiative of the University's Gender Studies Program (Programa de Estudios de Condición de la Mujer y Relaciones de Género de la Unidad de Ciencias Sociales del Centro de Investigaciones Regionales "Dr. Hideyo Noguchi").
