TRADITIONAL MEDICINE IN CONTEMPORARY MEXICO SEMINAR:

AUGUST 3RD- 12TH AND AUGUST 17TH -27TH

 

 

The seminar will focus on practical hands on techniques based on ancestral and philosophical knowledge on traditional healing practiced by several indigenous groups of Mexico. It will explore the concepts of healing and ailments in nowadays human body such as hot and cold, open, close, feminine and masculine. These concepts are an integral part of the process of achieving balance in our bodies as well as in our minds, heart and spirits.

 

Mexican healing techniques are well known and widely practiced in different spaces and environmental conditions of Mexican territory by native healers, full blood and mixed blood, mestizos. These practices play an important role in the process of a complete healing, mind body and spirit.

 

Participants will learn about ancient practices of Medicine in Mexico and will meet with well known community healers and experienced indigenous health practitioners from different parts of Mexico. The seminar will also address issues of community health, spirituality and biodiversity in the region of the state of Morelos.

COST OF PROGRAM $425 USD

Includes: transportation, entrance fees to archaeological sites, and donations to community healers, translation when needed and a couple of meals at some communities we visit.

 

 

Spanish classes

We can arrange classes in the morning for those interested in combining both activities.

 

Housing

We can arrange housing with Mexican host families

Cost per day $18 USD includes private room and three meals a day.
